Wanting to check my 2015 mustang gt oil pan (I've found some nice metal pieces in the oil and want to see what's in the pan).

Ford says you need to brace the engine and drop the subframe. Would be a big job to do in my garage...

Is there any way to do it without dropping the subframe? I saw some guy on youtube do it but he said he had modified support braces and didn't know if you could clear the oil pan over them from the factory.

Buy a cheap borescope/endoscope on Amazon and check it that way. The one I have has a magnet attachment so if you find any more pieces you can remove them that way. If you want a specific link to the one, just PM me.

You've already spent a lot of time, and I didn't realize you needed that much clearance to clear the oil pickup. So yeah, I'd pass on that project.
