Dopey question: When you remote start your car, what comes on besides the car?

I used remote start today, I think the first time, the fan/ac came on, although the climate control was off? Once I pushed the start button in the car, the blower went off.

Is that normal?

Yes.
You can set if you want the climate control and seats to come on automatically.

+1 haha,

I traded a 14 Tremor in for my Stang, and living in Texas I took advantage of that auto-start quite a bit, even in the cooler months.

The salesweasel who sold me this car talked about a guy who managed to do exactly the this. Apparently, the electronics that allow for auto start are still present in the manual car (at least according to him) and, theoretically, it could be reenabled. Somebody did this and bragged about how he got autostart to work in his manual Mustang.

He was showing it off while parked at the beach... and he left the car in gear. He started it, and the thing lurched right into the ocean.

With cooled seats I don't really mind not having it anyway.
The range is not long enough for me to start it from my office and by the time I am in range, it's about 20 seconds walking distance so barely enough for the AC to do anything.

Just need to get one of these:

You'd think in this day and age, something like his would be included.

I lost the clutch in my old Porsche and started it in gear and drove it 20 miles to the shop power shifting the entire time. I would highly recommend not adding remote start to a manual as most people leave a manual in gear when parked and starting it in gear is obviously a bad idea. If you remote start a manual and the car kills someone, you may be going to jail.

yeah I use mine a fair bit, great for car shows, and to upset the Euro Stang Owners, as remote start is not allowed on Euro cars
Just another reason why i went with the LHD
