After a long install process I got the paxton in, fuel system, etc. I was going to do the initial log file but ran into a problem.

They sent me directions HPT VCM Scanner Datalogging with RTD device – Lund Racing Support

Step 12) If the parameters are all grayed out like below(1), then please refer to the Ticket/E-mail where we probably informed you that you'll need to modify the Vehicle Profile after connection so that your Vehicle Profile matches the operating system being used. The reason this doesn't work properly is due to the scrambling of the strategy for protecting our calibrations. HPT is working on better options for this in the future, but this is the work-around. (2) shows the Vehicle Profile screen. (3) Shows where to enter the strategy we provide in the Ticket/E-mail. Once this is done you won't have to do it again for logging. After (3) you'll need to click Connect to Vehicle again and proceed to Step 12.

Well yes, all the parameters are grayed out, I tried to uninstall, re-install, reboot etc. and no joy. According to step 12 they were supposed to send me a "Vehicle Profile", I couldn't find this in the email. I know the VCM scanner works, as I could make a data file with the default channels, but no luck with the Lund provided channel file. I have an email into them, but was checking here first to see if anyone knew if it was a generic profile of something I need to do?

There are different strategies for the ECU. Even the same model year and options may have different strategies. VCM scanner/editor needs to know the strategy so it can populate the maps and make sense of the data coming in. Lund's encryption method does something where the strategy is not recognized by VCM Suite. As the instructions said, you will have to manually enter the OS (strategy) so VCM Suite knows how to decode the data.

What is the OS/strategy? Or is that something specific they need to give me?

The code should've been included in the email they sent you- it should be labeled as logging code and that's the OS code you enter in the vehicle profile editor, I believe. Check the email again and see if it's there..
