I'll be honest. If I can make 500 wheel with the turbo kit for my EB, and drive the thing for the next 3 years and not blow the motor' then count me IN. but most of the discussion had leaned toward needing a full engine build for reliability, I guess I just think if you have to go that far, it's just a little much when asking for daily reliability on a new engine and drivetrain that's less than a year old in this mustang..

My supra made 500 whp just fine... As they have been known for years and years to be able to do so...

I guess it just depends on your comfort level. I don't see pistons and rods as being "built" but I definitely see not wanting to rip a brand new motor out of the car. That is why I have a long term plan for my car. Couple thousand miles stock, tune and intercooler for another 10ish thousand miles, MAP 5858 kit for a long time until I'm willing to rip out the motor. You really do need to be invested in this platform to do it, but that doesn't make it impossible.

For sure! This platform is pretty sweet. My magic number is 330 - 400 and I would be set for DD. so that's what I'll shoot for, but even at 400 I feel like the motor would be pushed to the limit for a daily driving application.

My buddy's supra puts mine to shame, he was running 600ish for years with no problems at all, a tip broke off one of his sparkplugs which scored the cylinder wall and forced a rebuild, His fault as he hadn't changed the plugs in at least 3 years. Now he pushes 807 at the wheels on E50.
The 2jz is a beast, there probably will never be a motor as over engineered from the factory as it was ever again.

After going on a test drive with me, He is considering an S550 though :headbonk:

Heck yea man! The s550 gives me little hints of my MKIV which makes me like this car even more! The last map that I had made between 580 and 605 and truthfully, it was too fast for my daily commute, just always wanted to get on it and after 1 second it was illegal haha

Guess some people can't fight the urge to post even when they have little/nothing to contribute.

Now that's the kind of responses i'd like to hear. My goal is about 600 if it is possible. I won't be ready for about a year so i'm hoping the performance bar keeps rising. Hopefully at those power levels it will be reliable and we will have other forum members driving an EB with those power levels on a daily driver/daily basis. Thanks for the post.

I'll be driving mine whenever the weather isn't crap outside. I have a separate beater to use for those days. I don't know where my final power numbers will end up, but it should be up there a ways...

Don't listen to the haters, if you want to build your EB go for it.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what a 6266 will do on this car with a ported head. The 5858 is rated to 620 and the 6266 is rated at 735 so I imagine either turbo would ultimately meet your goals with the 6266 maybe being a better fit.
I suggest a 6062 Gen 2. Our 5862 turbo kit is pushing 501hp/465tq @ 29psi on our car. Stepping up to the 6062 will do that easily at ~23-24psi, and 600hp would be cake.

I definitely will be contacting you. At least you have some solutions and answers that i'm looking for. I'm in the next state over to you so when i'm ready i can drop the car off to you. I'm pretty much done with this thread because several people don't get or can comprehend my build goal. I guess this could of been a better thread than what it ended up being. I should of known better by reading plenty of other threads on this forum. Moderators just delete this thread for me i'd appreciate it.

though I had an alternate opinion I wish you the best of luck, I certainly didn't make any comments that should offend. Open forum is exactly what this site is for, the Internet is never an ideal place where you will simply hear what you want to hear.
