thought i would start a thread for us late comers!

be good to see when you ordered and then the process we all go through to see how long each step takes.

so if you ordered from say November 2015 let us know your progress


i ordered on 19/12/15 from Eastleigh

been given a lead time of approx 9 months. although on my paper work it says delivery date of 30/12/16

Thats strange.
I ordered 5th Dec but was told March 2017. Not that I mind because my convertible will be easier to shift as we head into the summer.
Still a miserably long wait
I've order a V8 GT Fastback, black on black, all the options without the custom pack.
So for the next 14-15 months or so I'm going to dread seeing a Mustang on the road. Irritatingly by local dealer still hasn't registered a car for test drives and aren't going to have one until end of Jan!

Oh wow that's a bit different from 9 months!

Have you spoken to them since the order to see if there is any change in that?


Mine is also a V8 fastback. In deep inpact blue with all options apart from custom pack.

We have a long wait my friend :-)

To be honest I don't mind it.
My current car is only 12m old and is currently in between £5-7k of negative equity on part exchange at the moment! My brain says the longer the better to be honest, but the heart says otherwise.:frusty:

I'm hoping for a cancelled order to pop up before the end of next year.

My car is currently up for sale but may take a while as it is modified and they normally take a bit longer to sell. May have to put it back to stock yet!

Not quite as late an order as yours but ordered in August and due in May but the wait is killing me. Just registered on here today but have been following threads for a while now to get some details and info for when it does get here. Did my test drive at beginning of December and don't regret ordering at all.

I have had an email from Karen to say I am due build in Feb and usually 12 weeks for delivery but she does think they will be getting quicker with practice.

Ordered a replacement deck lid already and just messaged Dennis in EU forum to get a set of red tints for the rear lights and reflectors. Trying to avoid buying even more before it arrives!

That's good to hear. That's the same lead time I have been given. Hope it's a bit quicker. Might get some decent driving weather!

Christ on a bike that's a fair lead time as Inverness reckoned if I ordered the now it would be approx September delivery , will try and get a firm answer when I go for a drive in the V8

Also what did your paperwork say as the delivery date? Mine says 30th December. I'm guessing that's them covering their backs?

Delivery date most dealerships drop a 12 month jump from your 'order placed date' (Order placed is usually the end of the month the order is placed, as most dealerships just batch send out the orders, so assuming yours does end of the month)

I ordered an Ecoboost convertible at the beginning of September but not heard anything more about delivery dates etc. I did get a call when they had a showroom car for me to view at the end of November & then drove a V8 Fastback on December 12. Should I be getting an email from Karen at Ford now with a build date? I was originally advised that it would be March build for June delivery when I placed the order. After reading lots of posts about dealers not ordering cars etc perhaps I should be chasing this up with my dealer?

I got an Email from my dealer informing me that they'd build my car before the end of 2015, then informed of how long from build it'd take (12 weeks).
I then called them and was told '11th November would be the build date'. I called November 24th, and was told it was delayed and 'might be' in the next batch (It wasn't). Emailed Karen early December who told me it'd be 'Early Jan' build, for 'March' delivery.

For anything confirmed, go straight to Karen, cut out the middle man, the dealers just ask Karen or check the Ford systems (think it's ETIS or Vista?). Karen tends to get a better response on questions, dealers in general are kinda useless from most peoples knowledge.

Karen, to my knowledge, will not Email you directly, unless you engage her first. Which is fair enough as she is very busy.

I think I will send her an email. Only information I have is order date, dealer information & ca spec ordered. Is this sufficient for her to locate my car order? Can you also let me have her email address?
