Hello!

I will be placing an order soon for a 2021 Mustang GT and I am on the fence on getting the Recaro seats. I love the way they look and feel but a part of me likes the heated and cooled seats.

This car would be my daily driver and I wanted to know if people who have the Recaro seats regret it or not.

I know you're paying more for less but I think they make the interior look so much more better.

Any thoughts and opinions would help!

Personally I really like the look of the Recaros but the comfort of the regular seats. While I don’t find the recaros to be uncomfortable by any means I could see where they would start to be a bit much for a daily driver. I ended up going with the heated and cooled seats and love them. Not once have I ran into the issue of wanting more bolstering to hold me in place (daily driver, no track use). I guess it really comes down to your intended purpose. If you plan on tracking your car frequently I would 100% get the recaros but if not I would vote for getting the regular heated and cooled seats. Although, there are a lot of bench racers on here who will probably tell you to get the recaros regardless of use haha. Either way you can’t go wrong.

Recaro are pretty much worthless as racing seats but, depending on your morphology, they can be very nice for the street and they do look nice

People are split on liking them... take a good half hour test drive and make sure they are comfortable for you. I took mine apart to try and make them less tight in the ribs. That said, I originally had the base seats and wasnt crazy about them so I bought the Recaros.

The base seats aren't heated or cooled, unless they changed things on the 2021.

I test drove a 2020 with Recaro seats and thought they were terrible. But I’m an old fart. They dug into my ribs.

I have factory cloth seats in my PP2, not sure if they are the same as a base GT seat but they look just like the Recaro except without the leather and openings at the headrest. They are comfortable on long rides and supportive on spirited drives. Would be nice to have Recaro's but rather put that 2k into other mods.

I sat in the Recaro seats in a 2020 GT 350, Me at 255 6'2"", a larger chap, they pinched my thighs and my ribs. Decided I didn't want them and got the 2020 Mustang GT (Deluxe) with leather seats...at a high "G" track such as Willow Springs Raceway, it is work to stay planted in the seat, part of that may have been my anxiety about driving the new car to the track with under 2,000 miles on it. At Buttonwillow Raceway, a month later, they were OK...here is what I really like...on a cold morning, I'll remote start the car from my living room. Let it run for a few minutes. Somehow that Lil Pony knows to turn on the heater, the steering wheel heater and the seat heater. When I hop in the car, total comfort. I was initially after Willow Springs, going to order the Ford Performance Recaro seats, $3,000 for 2 seats, seems like a bargain to me...but would I give up the comfort of the stock leather seats? Probably not at this point.

If you're fat get the regular seats and you get the heat and ac.
If not the Recaros are good. I liked them in mine. They look good
and supportive. From what I have read, people that are bigger don't like them
although most of them claim they are normal size, not fat they just all have
Ronnie Coleman traps and Lats and cant fit correctly. Have you sat in Recaros?

Me sort of fat....sat in GT 350 Recaro, seemed a little tight, great for track works, but marginal for long road trips....I love road trips...thanks for there feedback

I'm not sure about the 350 Recaros I'm sure someone that has them will chime in. I know the 350 I sat in the Recaros had a higher side bolster than the ones in my GT making it harder to get in and out.

My GT is a one-option vehicle ... the Level II. I was initially going w/the Recaro seats, but opted out. Without a doubt, they do look nice, but, aside from the back adjustment, you only have fore/aft ... & it's manual. The base model driver's seat has the same PLUS up/down & an adjustable lumbar ... & it's all electric. If you plan on doing more than a few track days, the Recaro option will possibly serve a function. But if, like myself, you just want to put lots of enjoyable cross country miles on your Mustang, the greater adjustablity of the base (or leather) seats are (IMO) definitely a better way to go. :like:

My wife hates them but I love them. Personally I wouldn't have bought my car if they weren't installed.

Since you're ordering new, you should consider the carbon sport package. Comes with heated/cooled leather+alcantara seats. I think they look much nicer than the regular leather seats. Plus you get other carbon fiber interior goodies.

I have the Recaros in my 16 and the heated and cooled in the 20. As a daily I would prefer the heated and cooled. As weekend fun car the Recaros.
