I need to remove the spacers that I have fitted to so that I can fit the new wider wheels, but the studs on the rear need to be replaced. Is it something a local garage would be willing to undertake ? Or is it better to change the complete hub ?
Where is the best place to buy new studs or hubs ?

Decent garage should be able to replace the studs

Best place to buy new studs is a Ford dealer, would imagine they can fit them too!

It's in at Ford having the a/c looked at again for the fifth time, so I will ask them about it.

We found that it was cheaper to buy a whole hub assembly from the US than buy individual studs from Ford UK.

This - I don't know what the availability in UK is, but had to replace stud in the front since the thread got messed up - complete hub with studs and bearing was $52 here from on like part dealers, studs were $12 each if I remember correctly and require work to replace - needed to be pressed out and in. However if OP intends to replace studs with the longer ones, than the work will needed to be done anyway.

Buy a new hub from the US, will be less than $100, versus ford who want £450+ for a hub assembly. Installing studs is a royal pain.

You can get them from rock auto, I got two front hubs for £90 delivered.

Tasca, Autonation or Ford Levittown - go to their website and you can find P/N for yourself for your specific VIN number - you can buy from them, not sure how much shipping to UK would be.
