Rear sequentials finally ready

Sorry I do have to ask a question, was at Mike's today (Modurstang) and we both said what is the point of having a switch in the boot?
If you have a cop car behind you, you have to indicate to pull over and get out the car to switch it to stock?
Why can't there be a switch near the light switch, Yes I have had a switch put in, but if i see a cop car I just switch them back to stock, while I am driving.
Mike will soon be working on the rears he has got the fronts sorted, and they are exactly like mine.
Not having a dig, just wondered why in the boot ? I know it's the same as the bloke from Poland who done all the S197s. But why?

At a guess it would be the labour involved.
But can't see it taking long to route the cable up to the front of the car for the switch. It's also a bit strange that there is 2 switches. Why not just have one that does both lights :shrug:

Regarding the switch. Its easier to wire one in the boot, than go to the central loom and rewire from there. Because the aim was to make these plug and play (the just plug into your stock wires) itd be too hard to route down front.

The switches are there more for the legalities with the law if they pull you over you can say sorry and returj to stock, so that they "let you off with a warning" rstger than writing you a notice to get it chanhed therefore you having to pay to remove them.



As for the waste of space. Firstly thank you for those defending me, secondly [MENTION=6364]Twin Turbo[/MENTION] just informed me that theyve been IP banned so should be gone for good now

Personally, I would lot like them to start sodding around with my wiring loom up near the light switch and I reckon to run the cables back and fourth would be another 1 or 2 hours labour. Plus they would have to start sodding around with interior trim removal.

This set up allows them to do all the work in the boot.

As for two switches, that makes sense to me as well. Its less wring and again, just keeps things fairly simple and 'plug and play'

My only issue is cost. I am not saying they have overcharged but it is a lot of money for something you don't get to see yourself!

Yeah the two switches allow them to set the splicing of the wire to add the switch in, into the wiring loom that is part of the mod, rather than one post mod. Meaning, if you wish, you could return to stock without having to remove panels, rewire, or having a random switch left.

My aim will be to 3m tape the switch inside the sides of the boot opening where they'll never get knocked, and equally are hardly noticeable, and then, should a cop ever pull me, i'll use the switch.


£700 is a fair bit, I was taken a bit back when I saw, but, Fortis' make a small margin of profit on these, it's <10% when I spoke to him, the parts are very expensive as is the labour and RnD cost, so it's kind of a pain, but hey-ho.

I'm officially "first" on the list, and should have mine by the end of April as the lighting guy who does it is also their master electrician who works on all of the lights for the lambo's and other cars that come through, and also the sequential units need to be hand made and sealed etc.

On a plus, UK made, Uk designed, and UK Delivered ;)!

Mind you, most peoples exhausts here are technically illegal, so eff it lol!

Sequential isn't illegal, but three separate lights are - so the funky Audi thing is fine, but ours is not.

I've been seeing more and more of the Audi version and have to say it looks horrible for a couple of reasons.

1. the rears on some models are broken in the middle due to their location on the boot/rear quarter so it looks like there's a bulb out.

2. because of the way they work you only get the whole thing illuminated for a split second and therefore they're not as noticeable as the solid version.

3. it screams "LOOK, LOOK, I SPECCED MY AUDI WITH SEQUENTIALS" as opposed to just looking like that's how they come from the factory.
