I have the gt350R RSD from ford. The package trays are the same except the R has one child seat anchor which I find strange because no way you'll ever be able to put a child seat in the back of a R.
Its for a using a child seat in the front passenger seat.

The mount on the rear package tray is for a tether for a baby seat in the front passenger seat on the GT350R.

I would imagine it's more of a requirement due to regulation, not for actual use.

Much like Ram trucks needing emergency release latches in the bed boxes and Ferrari 458's being recalled for not having them in the tiny front trunk that not even a toddler could fit in to.

For anybody who is curious, the seatbacks are 11lbs each and the base is another 10. If you toss in the hardware (seatbelts, etc.), the weight savings from removing the rear seat base and cushions is ~35lbs.

I can't comment on what the delete kit weighs. I'm DIYing.
I pulled my seats, brackets and belts this weekend while installing the roll bar. Total weight was 39 lbs. I have a Watson RSD carpet kit that's predrilled for the down bars. $425 and weighs less than 10 lbs.

If any R owners are interested in adding a back seat I'll sell the entire package for $499 plus shipping. It's brand new with 300 miles on the car and no one has sat in the back seat.
