I’m in need of my rear discs and pads replacing and had my first quote of around £900 this seemed pretty extortionate but just wondering if anyones had them done recently and what the ball park figure I should be looking for is?

it’s for a Ford Mustang 2016, 2.3litre Ecoboost

i had a local specialist change disks and pads (front disks only i think pads all round) so if you can find someone nearby other than Ford then that'll be your cheaper option and likely a better job done too. Rear pistons need to be wound in (use needle nose pliers or specialist piston rewinder tool) -damned hateful design of brake!

Is your car a daily and are you looking for upgrades ?
Has the front disks/pads already been replaced ?
Do you need the brake fluid changing too - every 30k ?
What does that £900 quote include ?

Here's a starting point for budget parts :

Add brands / quality / performance / fitment costs on top as that as you see appropriate :like:

900! They are having a laugh. For that you could upgrade to DBA Rear rotors and pads!

How are you with tools? It's so easy!
