So was in the shop yesterday when my mechanic showed me my front discs, theres a rusty lip forming on them. These are DBA 2 piece slotted discs fitted less than 2k a go. I put in Stoptech posi quiet pads. I wondered if I could put a more aggressive pad in to firstly clean these up with some spirited braking and two prevent it from happening again! Is the above sensible or gibberish?! I've I can run a harder pad what are peoples recomendations? I've looked at carbotech and pagid RS so far. Thanks

Is the rusty lip not an un swept area making a change of pad useless (unless the replacement pads have a slightly larger friction material footprint) ?

I'm not sure, I can see tiny spots of shiny metal on the lip after driving it today with a bit firmer braking
