I asked as I have an earlier ProCal and it performed similar functions. I had yet to see anyone report on the latest ProCal FP offers. Very nice.
Warning- this may be old news and I am late to the party. With the calibration kit, for some reason I decided to look up the CARB number and the manufacturer is actually Livernois motorsports. They sell a similar device under their own label. Reading the description it looks to be the exact same thing. Perhaps it is not VIN locked and looks like it allows you to do more with it too. Its not CARB compliant but promises more gains than the FP version. Anyway- I find it interesting and will look into it out of curiosity if nothing else. The only 2021 they list is GT500, but they have up to 2020 for the GT on the website.

Wonder if it's a more warranty friendly option when just changing tire sizes versus an aftermarket tuner.
Hey Rob- if this was in reference to my post about the Pro Cal 4. Then yes, it is warranty friendly. IT came with the Ford Performance GT Calibration kit (CAI, TB, & FP Tune). But you CAN buy just the Pro Cal 4 and not mess with warranty, if you just wanted it for the tire/gear changes. BUt it is pricey by itself, so may not be a good option either.

Perfection is useless, have it perfect with new tyres and it will show something else with somewhat worn tyres.
Charlemagne,
That may be true of Czech tires, but the ones we have in the US are constant diameter through the wear cycle-- the rubber expands. Totally kidding, I am just trying to do this to play with the device and settings to see how accurate it can get. I actually planned on doing the measurements for the diameter again after some significant wear. Purely out of curiosity and amusement.

Yes, most hand-held tuners will change the speedo calibration.....and last but not least, so can the dealer.

Over a year late to the party, but I am curious about a recommendation for the cheapest possible, non-warranty-voiding option to recalibrate my speedometer after a wheel & tire change. Reading this brief thread through I gather the following options are out there:
  • ForScan software option for which you buy an additional hardware piece to hook up to the OBD port. Seems sketch when I checked it out online. But is it okay?
  • Pro Cal which seems bulletproof on all fronts since it comes from FP, but seems also pricey for all I will probably do with it.
  • Livernois option who apparently manufactures the Pro Cal item for Ford that appears to be a full-on tuner so that might be powerful in my future, but I would be worried about hooking it up for fear of warranty issues. Also very pricey, but if I could get 40 hp out of a tune with it as a bonus... might consider it. Again, warranty being the main concern.

Am I missing anything? Anyone out there have the killer recommendation?
