Raxiom Unit in the Works?

If the solution was easy, everyone would have a product out by now. It takes a lot more than simply internet demand to bring a product to the market.The consensus appears to be that expectations far exceed what we have today in the tomtop product. Any vendor gets one shot to make this right, so due diligence will be done.

I'm really hoping this Raxiom unit has Apple CarPlay / Android Auto! Just installed a Kenwood unit with Apple CarPlay in her car and it's really great. Hopefully the Raxiom unit includes that as well as the integration with climate for those that have premium models :clap2:

Y'know, most of the time the TomTop unit is actually just fine. There are a few bugs, to be sure, but at least it works (well, it works when Sync is working but that's another story).

I'm just annoyed that I can't reset my time and that there are obnoxious spelling errors.

I'd really like to be a tester for Raxiom here. To that extent, I'd donate my TomTop unit and all associated bits to anyone who would be interested in poking at it with a sharp stick to suss out the bugs and provide a fix for other members -- I'd still even pay the bounty I mentioned in the other thread.

Because this, taken on my commute at 06:30 today, is annoying:

You have an older version of the unit. I don't have the time, date, or spelling errors. Only thing wrong with mine is it displays temp in C rather than F. I turned off temp all together so I don't even have to see it. There has actually been a few times I was curious what temp was, but then I just checked phone to see so it really isn't a big deal.

I suggest you try and return your Tomtop and get the newer one.

Honestly, it's not worth the time to me. It would take me a few hours to pull out the TomTop unit and reinstall the old one, and then another several hours to get the new one in and reinstall it.

That's IF I could get TomTop to exchange it. It's such a hassle it's not worth it. That's why I'd be willing to pay a bounty to anyone who can fix the software (or figure out how to flash the software from the new unit to the old unit).

Yeah, that is a bummer. I bought mine at the exact same time and lucked out with the newer unit.

I know in one of the other threads a dude managed to get into the file system and make some changes. It is strange that he is being so secretive about it and won't just post how he accessed it. I have some experience tinkering with things like this and would love to get into it but I don't know how to get started and the guy who figured it out won't share. Oh well.

Actually it was shot at the Tire Rack studio!
I was the first person to take my EcoBoost PP to them to get my car measured for Winter tires so they took a picture for their website!
