Hi, I searched through the forum and saw a few people had a similar problem, but I didn't find a definitive answer to what can cause the problem besides checking spark plugs. I have a whipple stage 1, had a cel turned on months ago for random misfire, had cel blinking recently again for same problem but didn't stay on, I figured if I had bad spark plugs it would misfire more frequently than only twice in over 10,000 miles lol. Main question would be if this is a major cause for concern? considering how infrequent it happens and how I am unable to replicate it.

yes it is cause for concern. I would pull the plugs and look real close at the ceramic. you may have one or more cracked that is causing the issues.

Have you done the crank relearn procedure since the install? It is in Whipple's install instructions after flashing their tune. Not doing will also cause the random mis-fire and blinking check engine light.

I will definitely check the plugs, and I have done the crank relearn after installing the tune. but I can do that again this weekend. Thanks for the advice, didn't think it was a big deal the first time but since it happened again I figured I'd investigate about it

I am a bit OCD but......... To make sure I do not get out of line or mess up the plugs I took a 6" extension and wrapped duct tape about 3" up to build it up to be a little smaller than the plug port in the valve cover. That way I cant slip with the extension and accidentally crack the porcelain when tightening or loosening

what fuel are you running? When i was using an octane booster i was fouling plugs bad, had a few misfires. switched to e85 and have zero issues with plugs.
