At what's temperature do the fans come on?

I have the GT/PP.

Whether or not it makes a difference I let my car idle for 2-3mins before shut off to cool things down. I've seen the cylinder head temps drop 10-13 degrees Fahrenheit usually during this wait. It's a practice I've been doing for years on my older Turbo Fords.

old turbo motors had to idle to circulate cooler oil through the turbos. a GT/PP doesn't have a turbo so no need to let it idle.

Cylinder head temp is susceptible to AF ratio, spark timing, etc, ie combustion temps. Idle is not going to heat up the combustion chamber so the CHT will cool down.

Totally get both points. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

It makes me feel better when I know the car cools down a bit. The difference is more than likely negligible.

Do you know what temp kicks the fans on?
