Ken Bjonnes. It was 23 but I asked him to pull couple degrees just to be in the safe side.
I would have a second tune for the track. I'm really need to upgrade my fuel system for e85. Bro, 100 is around $15 per gallon and doesn't make the power that e&5 does.

I was thinking about have a second tune for track. How many HP do you think I would gain between 20 and 23 degrees?

That sounds like Lund's tune. He had mine at 16.8 degrees on 93oct. Even whipple's tune runs more timing. My 93 tune is at 20 degrees and after 20 logs, I never see any knock.

God damnit I need to talk to Ken.
That's another $550 out of pocket though. It would be nice if Lund wasnt so conservative.

I'm running 18 on 93 and zero knock .. But at the track I do add some octane booster just to be safe ...I love to try some race fuel with 22 deg timing ...
Every time we added 2 deg of timing the HP when up 40 HP or more ... My tuner stop at 18 to be safe on the 93 ..:eyebulge: Mine is set up to pull timing but is locked at 18 and will not add more timing on its own ..

Did you try talking to Jon from Lund about maybe adding a degree or two?

From what I have seen in logs, 20 degrees on 93 is safe. There are a lot more people hitting 20 degrees on 93 than what is realized. I have seen whipple's calibration ramp up to 20.5 degrees very quickly on 93 which is extremely impressive. There are other things to consider to in regards to the A/F. Mine is always around .78 lambda WOT. But, I saw the same thing with timing to HP. I figured 20hp per degree.

I have been logging more since it has gotten ridiculously hot in Tampa lol. My logs look the same as if it was 60 degrees outside.

I begged him and was told no.
Your motor will last longer that way. 20 degrees and up is a no no on that much boost and pump gas. Just cause it CAN take it, does not mean it's ok to do so, and just because you don't see knock in the logs, does not mean it's not "knocking". Roush uses an audible device to detect knock to calibrate their sensors, they simply say not to rely on the sensors. 12lbs of boost on pump i would not go over 18 degrees if you want your engine to last long. Lund is right to keep it conservative.

If your running 23 degrees of timing on your race gas tune, your not going to get a huge power gain going with e85. Your going to be running similar timing with e85. I am at 23 degrees on e85 with 14#s of boost at 5200' elevation. From what I gather 23 with a max of 24 degrees of timing seem to be the sweet spot with race gas or e85.

Bro, let me put it this way. I have seen a supercharger manufactures logs. Their calibration on 93 oct ramps up to 20 degrees. They offer warranty..... And it isn't Roush. If you haven't heard, roush's tune sucks. I have more than 40 logs on my 93 tune. No issues at all and even in 95 degree weather.

I've seen a dyno comparison post where e85 made a significant amount of power over 100.

Which pulley do you have and did you dyno it with 14 pounds of boost and 23 degrees of timing in running E85?
