FYI if anyone is interested since it seems like these are rare, but there’s an ‘18 R, white w/blue stripe, no nav, no back seat car available in St Louis; Bommarito Ford.

Something interested I noticed for the first time though, this car does not have oil press/demp gauges in the dash. Looks odd. Didn’t know it came that way.

Anywho...just passing along. Hope this isn’t against forum code to let you guys know if interested. Only $3K ADM, and talking to the salesman, certainly got the impression it could be had at MSRP.

This would be an awesome addition. Someone will be lucky to get this in my opinion. The non electronic cars are going to gone for ever, The new fed regulations have seen to this
Congrats to whoever becomes the new owner, sadly it won't be me

The window stickers show the dealer is located in Orlando. I wonder what the story is behind that dealer exchange.

And what's up with the missing oil temp/pressure gages? Is that normal? Didn't like that at all.

Base model dash - no center gauges. I usually drive with the "vitals" screen up in the center of the IP (between tach and speedo) showing critical temps and oil pressure, with the highlight on the oil pressure reading.

I'm in St Louis right now. That dealer is over by the airport and I'm downtown. I'd like to go see it, but I'm without wheels.

Downtown isn't super close, but not bad. Check and see what an Uber would run ya, if it's worth it. I'd come get you to hang out and go check it out again, but I'm still at work and gotta pick up the kids as soon as I leave here! Dang-it!

I would imagine that there just was not lot of interest in a black car with no air in the state of Florida. Probably made sense for the dealer to trade for better vehicle to sell in the land of sunshine! Guess it makes these Base cars Yankees!LOL

I think the biggest factor is no AC. Down in FL, no AC means it would only be useable a fraction of the year.

Looking back on it, I'd love to have it. White with blue OTT is a great combo. It would have been a great track car to substitute HR361 with, but the 500 is coming, so maybe it's best I don't even look at it.

I have a low mile 16r with electronic package. Asked them to give me a ball park trade...they offered 47k lol...they told me they valued the car based upon 2 listed in California one for 53k and one for 51.5k. I asked them to send me the listings which they agreed to do....yesterday.....crickets. You know they would try to sell an r trade at 60k or more.

I did not realize those gauges were also stripped out of the dash. Not sure I'm a fan of that as I look at them constantly when driving around town or on the track.

I agree. Looks odd. But meh, it is what it is. At least they have oil pressure in the info center on the R; non-R car doesn't have that. Just me personally, if given the funds, I'd buy this particular car for one of two reasons...full time track duty or full time garage queen in a bubble.

I recall this car quite clearly as this vehicle was 1 of 3 Base R's that this dealership ordered in error (the Sunset Ford individual that ordered these 3 R's failed to request the Electronics Package) and in fact all 3 of these Base R's for this dealership had consecutive VIN's.

These 3 Base R's were built approximately a month after my Base R which was assembled on March 13, 2018.

It is my understanding that Sunset Ford was able to get rid of 2 of these cars but obviously traded this Base R to a Ford dealership up North that would have a chance of getting rid of a non AC car much easier than in Central Florida.

I realize that unlike most other enthusiasts such as myself and a few other members we think that these Base R's are very cool based on the fact that they are a bare bones car along with being very unique (especially on the interior) and extremely rare from a production numbers standpoint.

This vehicle is 1 of 19 Base R's built in 2018 for the U.S. market with the other 2 Base R's being built for the Canadian market. I was very fortunate to secure one of the two Canadian cars.

Doing a very quick count from memory these bare bones cars come with 11 delete items compared to the Electronic Package cars.

Of the 2138 R's models built for the last 4 MY's there were only 135 Base R's built out of that total number and would suggest that this may be that very last new Base R model for sale in existence and hope that one of our members jump on it and become a member of our little group of Base R owners.

Hey Harold, yes I agree. I would love to be able to buy this car. My wife is agreeable to anything that I can figure out how to pay for, but this one is out of my reach, dang it. :crying:
