Sorry guys that I haven't responded to. I received a lot of PM's once I posted this. I went ahead and told them I wanted it. I have an appointment on Friday at 1300 to meed with the GM and put the deposit down. I will be in Seattle all week, not getting home until late Thursday night. Probably going to start an eBay auction for the allocation on Monday and let someone order their choice with a deposit.

Sigh, another R goes the route of unobtanium. Not the response I was hoping for, I was thinking maybe an enthusiast would be able to snag a R at a decent price. The search continues on. FPCV8YO, we tried.

I certainly would say it is "unobtainium". It will be up on eBay for sale next week, or shortly thereafter. If you are interested, bid away.

Smh...

No disrespect but I don't even know why you bothered to post that?... Better yet the original post. There are honest-to-goodness people on here just trying to find a car and now this...

I'm at a loss for words.

You can't technically sell an allocation on eBay, has to be the full value of the car with a VIN assigned

Folks on here flag those auctions all day.

You don’t want to know
By eBay's rules, only a franchised dealer can sell an ordered vehicle of that franchise's make - and only if a VIN has been assigned. An individual must have the title and cannot sell a position in line or an allocation. In my state and others, that means you have to pay all the taxes and licensing fees before getting the title, and then the end buyer gets to pay the taxes and licensing fees on the sale price again. Check with your county treasurer or secretary of state (if it's not already too late) to see what the rules are where you live, or a big chunk of your ASM (Added Seller Markup) may get eaten up. Good luck!

I think it would be sad if forum members had an auction taken down out of spite, but that isn't for me to decide. If someone has that much time on their hands, more power to them. I appreciate the heads up though. I think a couple of days on the bay would get some interest going on it and like you said, there are other avenues for me to list the car to enable someone getting it just the way they want. Appreciate the message man.

The dealer absolutely does not have to honor your contract to a 3rd party. It's a contract between YOU and the dealer. You are travelling a slippery slope IMO. You have nothing to sell if you do not take delivery.

Not sure what you mean. I am buying the car. My intent is to allow someone to pay to have it built to their specs. They will obviously pay enough that I am confident they will follow thru and it will be non-refundable.

I will then purchase the car and sell it to them at MSRP once the car has been titled and is owned by me. Fortunately my spouse is an attorney and will take care of the agreement's language. It really isn't that difficult.

In the end, an "enthusiast" will get the R exactly the way they want it. It is a win/win situation.

It's a win/win for you, because you're making money out of this deal, and already own a GT350. Not really a win for the future buyer. They have to pay you a mark up when you could just let the allocation go to someone who actually wants it. That's why people are a little dissapointed.

If you'll sell it to me exactly at MSRP ($67,345 Shadow Black, Black with Red Racing Stripes, Tech Package, Vehicle cover), and I give you $2,000, sure, why not, but I'm sure you're looking for $10,000+k (hence the Ebay auction to pay you for the allocation)? I'm interested, if you want to do a fair deal, MSRP with a LITTLE over the top, my contact info is in the thread.

I think his deal with the dealer was already for $5,000 ADM if my memory serves me correctly.

GT P-TREE, I have no idea what it is going to go for. I can say for certain that I will be paying MSRP+$5K for the car(that is what the dealer has stated). What it goes for after that isn't up to me at all.

So, in your scenario, it would be unfair to me as you want to give me less than I am paying for the car. Also, you are looking to pay far below market value for the car currently, so in reality, it is only a win for you.

If I put the car up for sale and it brings in $80K, how is that doing anything wrong? You would rather the dealership make money? I guess I could not purchase it with the intent to resale, but how am I assured that the person behind me on the list won't do the same?

it is absurd for anyone to tell someone else what to do in this scenario. Your intent today may be to keep the car, but you have no idea what tomorrow brings. Lets say I buy this car for $72K, sell it for $80K, somebody is getting a hell of a deal based on what dealerships are charging, then I am also getting my regular GT350 at $8K off MSRP. Win/Win in my eyes.

You stated "I will then purchase the car and sell it to them at MSRP once the car has been titled and is owned by me." Just going off what you said.

If you can't sell it and it's Shadow Black, Black Stripes, and Tech Pacage, let me know.
