I have the 2.9 kit on my car with Whipple tune. Will adding catless long tubes require recalibration from Whipple?

Tried calling Whipple but they are closed

Thanks guys

The whipple tune is a 50 state legal tune thus the rear o2 sensors are active. Whipple will not disable them so you would have to try antifoulers, cel deletes(mini cats in antifoulers), or a custom tune.

I'm on the Whipple tune and recently added Kooks 1 7/8 headers with the standard non green cats. Car runs good without any CEL. It's obnoxiously loud on cold starts with the magnaflow competition cat back. I can only imagine what catless would sound like lol.

The car will run fine without cats on the Whipple tune, however you would need to pick up O2 foulers to keep the CEL off.

A custom tune would help maximize the gains from the headers.

I'm set to redyno the car April 15th to see how much power I picked up on the stock Whipple tune. I'll report back when I get the numbers.

It appears as though I may have a leak somewhere as the car was way down on power. Vacuum at idle is about 17.

Car has only seen 93 octane and stock whipple tune.

August 2016 (spark plugs never gapped from dealer- .044-.048) the car with a tick over 1,000 miles on it made 723 rwhp and and 560 ft lbs revving to 7300 rpm on a dynapack dyno SAE.

September 2017 (spark plugs never gapped from dealer- .044-.048) the car with about 6,000 miles on it made 673 rwhp and 558 ft lbs breaking up after 6500 RPM (sparks plugs misgapped/ clutch slipping). The car now had a carbon fiber driveshaft, OPG/CS, and ATI balancer to rev up to 7,800 rpms- only made it to 7,500 rpm as it was breaking up too bad. These numbers were on a dynojet and STD.

April 2018 (new spark plugs gapped .028, kooks headers, mach 600 clutch kit and flywheel, and most recent whipple tune) car with 8200 miles on it, dynojet SAE numbers were 633 rwhp and 502 ft lbs on the first run and 655 rwhp and 485 ft lbs on the second run.

Switching these two runs to STD uncorrected netted 656 rwhp and 521 ft lbs for the first run and 680 rwhp and 503 ft lbs on the second.

I used the whipple flare tool to log my idle and both runs. I emailed the logs to Jeff over at Whipple last night to see if he can spot anything out of the ordinary.

If anyone is interested in reading the logs, PM me and I can email them to you. I also have the original logs from my 2016 dyno session saved in a HP tuners format.

I'd be interested to see your logs in HPT format for comparison. My car put down very similar #s on the stage 2 with a 3.625 pulley, long tubes on 93
