I realise there are other threads about paint protection film and coatings etc.

This is more a yes/no survey.

1. Do you feel the paint is of a decent thickness and finish
2. Does your car have paint protection?
3. Does your car have paint protection film?
4. Does your car have stone chips?
5. Has your car got stone chips where the film is?

For my own curiosity, still undecided.

Thanks.

I'm planning to get ceramic coating, largely for ease of maintenance - car will likely be a DD and I want to keep the paint looking as good as possible with as little effort as possible.

1. Appears to be fine in my case, however have read stories on this forum indicating otherwise.
2. Yes. OptiCoat Pro+.
3. Yes. Suntek PPF (Front bumper, guards, bonnet, mirrors, front of rear wheel arches, top of rear bumper).
4. Not yet. :hail:
5. See above.

I have found the bumper join on the side at the rear is very average finish on quite a few cars I have looked at. Not up to japanese standards by a long shot....

Full disclosure, I've done this for a living for 15 years.

1. Thickness, yes. Most S550s are reading in the 4-7 mil range, plenty of paint. The finish is generally poor, tons of orange peel, dust, etc... but typical of most Fords (before you jump on me I own 3).
2) Do you mean a paint coating, if so, yes. cQuartz Finest.
3) Yes.
4) No.
5) No. PPF can perforate but it takes a pretty mega hit.

OK, for me:

1) Yes for paint thickness, Detailer checked it for me. Finish was fine after pre-Delivery.

2) Yes - Ceramic Pro.

3) & 4) No.

5) N/A
