A 30 series tire is what I'm looking at next in the stock width. In fact, it will ultimately drop your gear ratio to that of the R and you'll be a hair faster.
??????? How will it change your gear ratio? Both cars have exact same gear ratios?

Stock tire profile is 35. 30 is less than 35. Smaller tires equals slightly quicker acceleration. Same as switching wheels, if you go smaller= quicker acceleration, larger equals higher top speed

Right. However, there is small difference in wheel diameter and not much changes.

True, the difference will be marginal, and the fact that our wheels are significantly heavier, it won't accelerate as quick as the R regardless

Im just being proactive on what is available for the non Rs. and thinking of going for a wider set up.
Will 305/30/19 and 325/30/19 fit on the OEM rims?
Keep in mind, I DO NOT track my car

I ask because it looks like theirs at least 8 different prices but I only included the 4 street tire set ups and not the track/competition set ups (price are 4 tires):
Hankook $1017
Continental $1224
Bridgestone $1343
Michelin SS $1547
Do those prices include mount and balance?

If you aren't intending to track the car, what is the point of going wider? As it stands, you will be hard pressed to find the limits of the stock tires on the street and going with a wider tire in a different compound might result in less overall grip

Just can't get enuff!
Personally, I can't go back to anything less than MPSS's. I had DW's on my last car and they were a great DD tire but performance wise, I just can't do it again. I'm going to burn up my RS3's this year and into next year, mount my MPSS's back on the stock wheels, get a set of dedicated wheels, most likely 19x11 and 305/30-19's square, or 19x11 305/30-19 and 19x12 325/30-19 and go with R888's autocross and road course.

Do you have good pics you can post of your square 305/30/19 tires setup on the stock 19x10.5 and 19x11 wheels?

I'd like to see how "wonky" they will look especially the rears... Thanks!

Well you wouldn't even be able to notice unless you saw the sizes on the side wall in terms of just looking at it. There definitely is a noticeable wheel well gap but it isn't awful. It's kinda becauseracecar so whatever. Here's some comparison pics.

This is kinda shoddy light but it's bang on from the side at least.

At autocross...

In the grand scheme, it's 10mm on each front end, hardly earth shattering. The tires flex more than that going over a bump.

No, those prices are from Tirerack

With the 305s 30s in the back, is it me or does it look like it has a bigger gap? Maybe the pics are playing tricks with my Filipino eyes.

R tires are 30-series.... so no biggie. I like gaps... no not the dirty definition, gaps can be good for track use- compression & rebound. :D
nastang87xx I also have the 305/30/19 square setup planned... RS-3's too. Let me/us know how it holds up on the track. My backup is the RE-71R's.

Thinking about going to 305/30 instead of 305/35 for the rear (as PSS are not available in Europe in that size), but worried about speed indicator, and potential impact if I keep the 35 in the front (car sitting on its rear...)
Real issues or minor IYO ?
