I've been browsing the a bit debating what upgrades might be helpful in cleaning up the "slop" in the lower shifts. I've seen both of these items come up a few times here and on r/mustang.

This is my first sports car and I'm definitely not a mechanic. Just an enthusiasts who finally got his dream car.

Steeda Shifter Base Bushing - MT-82

Whiteline Positive Shift Transmission Mount Bushing Insert

Would the two items above help stiffen up the shifts? Would I use both of these items together or would I want to only get one or the other?

As a last thought, I don't have ramps or a lift and nor a ton of tools. I might be able to get it over to a buddies out of town and use his tools. But if I took it to a shop to have these installed, any idea what kind of cost I'd be looking at? Living in Texas.

Thanks for any tips and information.

It will stiffen up the actual shifter mechanism, feeling a lot more positive when shifting...but as far as the lash on the drivetrain, it will not change.
