Ill preface my question, it is not my intention to start a discussion on whether people prefer the 15 or 18 front! I know that will ruffle as many feathers as the manual v auto debate!

Does anyone know why Ford use the '15 front for the '18 GT350 and looks like also the GT500? Surely it would make sense for Ford to use the same front for all Mustangs??

'18 gt350 is still using the My15-17 (S550.1) platform.

Gt500 also uses the 15-17 front (ish, it mixes a 350 bumper, with s550.1 headlights, with some new aero, and uses the S550.2 (My18+) rear bumper section.

Yep I know, that's my question. Why? Why don't they use the 18 front

because they want their halo cars to look aggressive and mean can't do that with the 18 front end :)

also its probably something more likely due to development and approval lead time they started the projects back before the 18 facelift and to restart with the 18 facelift now is too expensive/big a job.

Is the 350 front end not lower than the standard car - different wings etc - ie whilst it has the looks of the 15/17 it's effectively not the same?

Yes,

marks i'd take a guess, that it was because production and design started before the My18s. if a fourth halo (say a mach 1) it'll probably look more like a My18.

Yep, seems no one has a conclusive answer, except Ford. Strange. Although I think Manders is probably onto something
