Now I've taken delivery of my GT, the one thing that stands out is the rather large and silly GT faux gas-cap, so thought I'd resurrect this thread! Anyone replaced theirs? If so, how/what did you swap with? Pics would be a bonus too:thumbsup:

I purchased the OEM blank rear deck lid from cjpony. Installed by the good guys at modurstang. gives a good clean de-badged look.

Be aware that there is a pontil mark in the centre of the new deck lid, which is annoying once you know it's there!

Whole new decklid form Newtakeoff.com they're about £100-£150 all in once posted. Csn swap to a GT badge (no cap) a blank decklid or a running pony decklid. There's one of each on there. Also some USA guys are looking to trade :).

Can't just swap the badges as theres holes in the lid that'd need filling.

I had one delivered last week from Newtakeoff, it was $69.99 + shipping, total of $161.00. Don't forget the import costs of £32.40 that UPS charged upon delivery

It took exactly one week from ordering until it was with me, very pleased with it, infact it is in absolutely brand new condition. It was also packed extremely well, wrapped in a big piece of foam inside a cardboard box.

Recommended.

All I need now is the car, looks like there is going to be large pile of bits and pieces in the garage by the time I take delivery at this rate.

Yes, that'll be my first mod. That faux gas cap has to go!
