Question: Sides mirrors lines or arrows

I hope this is the right forum to post this question.

I have noticed that many Mustangs have these arrows on the side mirrors. Well I don’t have’em but anyway I’d like know what does it do? What is it for? Or its just for style!?

They attenuate wind noise at highway speeds.
