Hi everyone,

2018 5.0 PP1 and my warranty is done so I will going with wengerd performance this spring for a tune. My only mechanical mod currently is a Corsa xtreme active exhust.

I have kooks catted headers ready to be installed.

My question is when is the right time to load the tune. The shop that will install the headers is about a 30 minute drive from my house.

Should I drive down, park, load the tune and hand the keys over the mechanic?

Should I load the tune in the parking lot after the mechanic does the install?

Or should I drive it back home after the headers are installed and load the tune in the comfort of my driveway etc?

Thanks for any advice.

Headers are generally not a critical thing as much as an intake, but i would load before you drive home. And be sure to upload your stock file a few days ahead of time if you can so he can work on it and get back to you and it will be ready to go. That's what I did, but I went with a JLT intake as well as headers so tune was definitely a must for me before even starting the car after parts installed.

Thanks guys, does the tuning device he use store the stock tune, or is it purchased separately from him? Question for him but figured would ask.

KAM Reset. When you load your tune it will automatically do a KAM reset.

Before you load your new tune, you need to pull your stock file and store it to your TDN app or laptop.

Make sure it’s stored correctly then upload your tune from him.

It's not hard to upload a tune just do it when you pick it up, but if you are going to do any other mods you should wait N on a tune because you might have to pay for a tune revision
