My car is currently running a Lund tune via an Ngauge, but I will be swapping cams and going with a different tuner. The new tuner uses SCT tuners, so I just wanted to see if anyone has had any issues going from one to the other. The Ngauge definitely looks like the better tuner, but it is what it is. My car currently has Comp cams, and to make a long story short, the car isn't making the power it should according to Comp.

The Ngauge has my stock tune downloaded, so worst case scenario, I can always go back. I'm just trying to think if there would be any issues if I would need to use anything else on the Ngauge while the car has been tuned using an SCT device. Anyone have any issues doing anything like this?

Also, a quick question while I'm already here: I haven't done much research on the SCT X4; can you change tire diameters, etc with it? Just curious.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I dont imagine you would need the ngauge any more once you have the SCT. unless you want to use it as a gauge. yes sct can change tire sizes.

I was tuned with the HP Tuners Ngauge and ended up going with the X4 after the 3rd tuner was having problems getting my car to run the way I wanted it to so we switched over to SCT (I think because the tuner had more experience with it and he wanted to tune my car with a different strategy (I think that’s what he called it)). Car runs great now. I still have the Ngauge hooked up so I can use it for a gauge as well as datalogging.
You will have to revert your car back to stock using the Ngauge and then start fresh with the SCT while your car has the original factory tune on it. As far as I can tell the X4 loses the features like adjusting tire size when it’s used for installing a custom tune. I saw all the menues on it for tire size/etc., but once the custome tune option is selected those menues are no longer accessible. I think they are only available when you use the canned tuning that comes on the SCT. Hope I’m wrong and someone can tell me how to set tire size while on a custom tune, but I don’t think it works that way.

could be like bartley said, it might be set in the custom tune. i remember seeing it in my x3 so i cant imagine would be removed from new one. so probably just input to the tuner about tire size if its even different enough to matter
