My friend has 19x8.5 on all 4 wheels. My advice is 1in in rear 20mm in front do you guys agree?

I had 19x9.0 45 offset wheels on 255/40/19 and I put 20mm all around. (25 offset including spacers)

the fronts sank in just a hair more than rear. so I assume that would work for you.

heres some photos of mine with 20mm all around.

I think he wants a more staggered look which is why I put the sizes like that. 25mm rear 20mm front. I’ll e honest I think he needs 1in p front and 1-1/4 rear but I don’t see them anywhere.

oh I misread it, I thought he meant he wanted larger in front, and rear smaller. that would make it squared.

my car being 20mm all around, it looked staggered, but yes. I think 23-25mm in rear would definitely set it off. but too far and it may poke past fenders.

mine 20mm all around, the rear still visually looked further out, I assume the axle is naturally out further than fronts.

Me personally I think poke is nice but I don’t think that’s poking with only 19x8.5. That’s a pretty narrow wheel.

Yeah, if you want it to feel twitchy in corners, stagger it all weird like that. Otherwise go square. I'm running 19x9.5 PP wheels with 25mm hub centrics all around on 275 square.

Listen this isn’t for me. But why would it feel any more “twitchy” then an actual staggered mustang?

Plenty of cars are staggered and handle well, sure. Mine had a very mild staggered setup as well as the GT350. But in an FR car, ideal handling is a square setup. Putting 275s on the front with a square setup made the car "push" a lot less in tight corners. But I guess it depends on what you're doing, maybe it'll be perfectly fine for you. At the limit though, it's noticeable.

I have 275 fronts and 305 rear. The car drives fine with a staggered setup. It’s designed to drive be that way imho. I made the post to find out info about spacers for my friend. Spacers to me aren’t something I would do. To me get a tire and wheel that fills the fender and quarters and call it a day. When it comes to square or staggered that’s preference. I believe the poster was saying a staggered setup with spacers would make it twitchy. That I don’t quite get technically it shouldn’t be any different than a “real” staggered set up. I’ve never heard any one complain about a staggered setup with spacers. So I’m curious now.
