Hey guys, got a question. I’m doing the fuel system in my Whipple’d 2016 6R80 and looking to go to a smaller pulley from the stock 3.75 and wanted opinions on which I should go or if I should even leave the stock pulley and what’s a “safe zone” horsepower level? I’ll be running E85 at the track.
I’d like to keep the car on the safer side with a goal of making the car touch a 9’s at the track.
Mod list is:American racing 1 7/8 long tube headers, free flowing exhaust with stock resonators, corsa sports, Fore fuel system, ID1050X injectors, 2.9L gen 3 whipple 3.75” pulley, opg and crank sprocket done.

Id step to a 3.5 with e85 and the fuel system.
Your gonna need to 800 rwhp to tap into the 9s. Definitely dooable.

With the mods you’ve listed I’d say a 3.25 pulley will get you ~850hp and depending on your da, that could be enough to get you a 9 sec pass. People feel the safe zone varies, but I was always comfortable with ~800 on a good tight tune. Some guys get away with 900 and the occasional rip here and there.

What kind of 1/4 mile times are you running with your current mods?

Awesome, thanks guys. I assume a 3.5 inch pulley will get me to the 800rwhp mark? What can I look for power on 93 pump gas on the street with that pulley?

I would never try to make that kind of power with a 3.50 pulley on pump gas.I would at least put a can of Boostane in the mix.Just Saying

What’s the da where you live? I can run a 3.5 pulley with no fueling issues (72#er’s on 93) but our da is terrible....2,500-6,000 depending....2,500’ is still a 1# loss in boost pressure for me, so the 3.5 acts as a 3.6 pulley. With the 3.25 pulley I run half a can of boostane (~100 oct) and my fuel trims are still as they should be.

The track I go to is 300’ above sea level.
From what I gather I believe a 3.65 pulley would be the Max I should go on pump gas and 3.5 on E85. Since I only use E85 at the track I may just go with the 3.65 pulley and not have to swap pulleys for the track

You could do that or run a 3.5 all the time. Pump gas plus 1/2 can of boostane on the street, then e85 at the track. Who’s tuning the car?
