Anyone know if it’s possible to add puddle lights to a base gt or getting premium mirrors and just swapping them in?

I'm sure it's possible, you would have to wire them yourself though. I know when I had my base model I added the turn signal mirrors and the light up sill plate.

To my understanding that is correct. In my case my car have 301 package so will like to upgrade to the ones with Puddle Light and Signals but don't know if the wiring harness are there or not.

My opinion, save your money, to me it was look at that, that is cool, for the first few times driving the car at night, after that I don't even notice they are on/there when I unlock the car or remote start it. Now it is more like.

If you like, I can take a photo of them on, tonight to give you an idea of what they look like reflecting on the ground, lit up.
Mine are the mustang horse, not sure if they all are like that or not.

I agree, but some people enjoy the challenge of upfitting a base car to have all the premium features. It's harder than it used to be, because almost always the harness between trim levels are different so you have to wire in upgrades yourself. Back in my day when I did it on old cars, plugs were often still there so you just had to snag the parts.

I think these are the puddle lights he's referring to that come from the factory. I know mine is a GT premium but I dont have a window sticker, as i got mine 2nd hand. I dont have a listing of all the options. Wish I did though. Sorry I can't answer any questions about adding them when they didn't come on the car though, as mine already had them. I actually really like them. The novelty hasn't worn off for me and ppl always comment on it. Obviously a subjective thing, though.

Yes, they have always been the Mustang pony. I have always found them to be an enjoyable little feature of my Mustangs. ”Cool” has a value. Considering the small fortune many of us spend on cosmetic upgrades these puddle lights are certainly worth the cool.

one interesting thing, however- my friend's non-premium GT doesnt have these puddle lights, though he bought something i believe from amazon for less than $20 that basically mounts on the door IIRC. his car has the side mirrors with the vehicle detection, where it lights up if another car is in your blind spot. i do not have that on my car, yet i have these puddle lights. i think his car has a different package than mine, maybe it is 301 or whatever the "safety" package is? i dont know all the different packages off the top of my head but i know my explorer had a package that had those blind spot mirrors, adaptive cruise, cross lane warning, etc all in one package, so im guessing there is a similar one for the mustang.

Everyone is different, my opinion is just that, not knocking anyone that thinks they are great or cool.
I just don't even think of them now.
They are not new, the import crowd has had them for a decade or more.
They'd mount them on the door and it be shown when you opened the door. bottom of rear bumper.
