Noticed mine had failed last night. Will be calling dealer tomorrow. They may have a new part on the way but I still want it fixing asap. They can do it again after the new part it out.

Mine hasn't been replaced yet, but I pulled the original out of curiosity. The unit itself can not have the angle adjusted in the mirror and it is a sealed unit, so don't think you can adjust the lamp or gobo either.

If you want to pull yours, there is a release tab all the way up underneath the clear plastic tab at the edge of the unit. I very carefully inserted a small jewellers flat blade screwdriver to release the tab, then it just pops out. I can see that or could very easily be damaged though if you weren't very careful!

Out of interest have any of the replaced puddle lamps gone again? Does it tend to be with those originally fitted or is it an inherent problem in all of them?

I had mine fixed a month ago and so far so good. Took 10 minutes or so for the mechanic to change. He said this is not a common problem and they have only done my car so far. Big dealership in Manchester.

Forgot to post this but I chased my dealer this week to find out where they are with what will be my third replacement (last 2 were wonky). Their response;

"I am still awaiting news on the part being delivered in. As soon as my parts are here tomorrow I will track where that part has got to. I’m sorry about the wait but as soon as I know tomorrow I’ll send you an email."

That email was from Tuesday, funnily enough the guy never emailed me back.

For reference, I received the last one at the end of June.

So they didn't degrade - just wonky?

Still deciding whether to live with my wonky light until it fails again (if at all), or whether to get a straight one. I'd convinced myself I was being too fussy but I think you've swayed me to moan and get a new straight one.

Image is still crystal clear on my second replacement as is the one on the first replacement which I kept. Just sits wonky/in the wrong place - a little further out than my passenger side.

Speaking of being fussy, I seem to remember it being a slightly different colour/brightness too! But yes, definitely ask for another one. If they do re design them to be more robust and straight, we are all entitled to one, or 2 for that matter - if the design is flawed, they should be replacing them.

New puddle lamp arrived in the post this morning. Not in a box this time however, just wrapped in bubble wrap. Makes me suspect they grabbed one from another car...anyway, will try to fit it tonight and report back.

Having had my drivers side puddle lamp replaced, I noticed it is at a bit of a funny angle. I seem to remember someone else having this problem?

I'm thinking it is either a dodgy batch (as the angle of the gobo can't be adjusted)

OR

Mirror housing is at a slightly different angle between driver and passenger, and that dealership have ordered in parts for a LHD model!
