Given the number having the issue here there must be '000s having warranty repairs in the US so Ford won't be slow in finding a solution.
Is it definitely such a big deal with US cars? I'm hoping we've just got a bad 'batch'. Or am I deluding myself. Otherwise, if it's a fundamental design flaw, everyone would have to have new projectors every six months.

So do we think it's something we can just order from the dealers and easily fit ourselves at home?

Whatever it is, that's why we have warranty. Might be a pain but at least it's a fix and it's only cosmetic not the engine blowing :)

Whilst our mirrors are different, I'd be amazed if the projector units were different. Cost efficient to use same for all markets.

Had a bit of a brainwave this afternoon...any of you guys with this issue use a pressure washer to clean ur car? When i was washing mine today i thought that it would be quite easy to spray a load of water into the lamp, especially as its just a clip in part...just a thought

I have not used a pressure washer and mine has started to go. Although the detailer might have used a pressure washer when I had it done?

I brought some of those stickers they talked about on the US section that go over the lens to the Berkshire meet yesterday and was going to let someone try them but forgot all about it.....bugger.

I thought that the UK spec Mustang has powered mirrors but not heated mirrors. Was I wrong to think this?
They heat up yes, I think I used the max heat setting on the console to defrost my windows and noticed vapour on the mirrors, 45 seconds later I was able to drive of away with a clean window & mirrors...

Maybe they'll offer us a bulk group buy ;-)

Nope, did not use a pressure washer, only a foam gun bottle!

Aside from this, why is it always the driver's side that goes? Surely there should be an even spread of both sides? I don't think pressure washers are to blame.

Maybe it's the drivers side more because the drivers door is being used more than the passenger side, I think the paint they use isn't keying in well on the plastic it's painted on, with shutting the door often it's causing it to lift and in time start to break up. Now someone will prove me wrong and say it's happened on a door they have never opened.....I give up with this if they do.

Just sounds in general like a design fault. Where or what part is at fault I do not know, it's worth contacting your dealers to notify them and get the issue covered under warranty. But I'd also recommend speaking to someone from Fords head office - if you want, try Andy B. Having the big wigs or the people who can actually prevent this from happening again notified will stop those who have long 200 mile dealer trips from having to do such. Worth a shot, I know if I get the issue it'll be to the dealers and probably a question to Andy or Pierre from Ford.

That's if he even drives his mate. Never know do you, if he has the issue I'm sure ford know about it. However it's better to have customers notify of the issue as it allows ford to see its widespread.

FFS, my drivers one went tits up today too! Don't know whether to feel chuffed or not, would hate to be the odd one left out here...

With the amount that have gone w@nky, i hope Ford have a BIG box full on its way over!

No pressure washing here either, 3 bucket method and slow caressing while doned with a lambs wool mit (o er, that made me dribble just thinking about it )
