Mine's due to go back to the dealer this coming Tuesday for the same issue.
Did they indicate to you what they thought the cause was and how long did it take them to fix it?

Thks
:)
Hi Phil, The service reception guy said that it was only the second they had had in, and that it appears to be a lense breaking up !
I was at the dealers for around half an hour, I would imagine that the paper work for the technician took longer than fitting it.
All is good now though.
All the best with it.

Same as mine when they replaced them, there is nothing to see unless you figure a way to cut them open...

I have now joined the driver side 'horse carrying a parcel on its back' puddle lamp club..
Also got a massively cracked windscreen, it will be the 2nd replacement in the country so far according to AutoGlass...glad my insurance covers it because dealership price is ÂŁ1100 for a replacement windscreen lol. Just a chip from the road that could of happened on day 1 or day 1001, the replacement won't have the ford logo.. I'm pretty sure that's the only place on or in the car (apart from engine bay) that says ford on it..

Aren't they supposed to provide you the OEM windscreens? I wouldn't accept less...

And if the 1st replacement is the guy from Facebook you will have a frustrating road ahead. He got a LHD one sent 1st and then in the end had a RHD one removed from the production line apparently.
Well, we'll see when they try to fit it.. They hold 'stock' now so I'd be surprised if that happened previously and they keep repeating sending out LHD versions but stranger things have happened... I've got them coming to my house so I don't have to leave the car with them..

It's the right windscreen just doesn't have the decal on it.. Not too bothered, I'm sure I could argue it and wait for one from the states but I don't really care enough about having the ford decal.

Is it just the Ford logo that's missing or the entire "blackout" area behind the mirror?

Only things that would change on the windscreen is, Ford logo at the top (In the blackout area). VIN Location should be drivers side (Bottom left as you look at the car from the outside). To be honest, as long as it's got the VINhole, I wouldn't worry ;)

Hmm...

Ford logo missing = not bothered
Blacked-out area missing = more bothered

Rain sensor missing, even more bothered. Is the GPS in there as well?

Ah yeah, well, blackout area is standard on all windscreens aint it? I was more just referencing the ford logo...
slowhand99 I thought these were in the box behind the rear view mirror, and probably could be removed when the windscreen is taken off... I'd assume that's the case? Correct me if I'm wrong!

Not sure if there are any other important things like we have in the rear window, heating thing's, sensors and stuff? Also the blacked out area is good to discretely place a dash cam or radar detector.

Anyway, one would wonder if they massively import these cars to Europe they would at least have every replacement part available at the Ford HQ in your country. This puzzles me, as it took 6 months to get a new side rocker and 6 weeks for the puddle lights to arrive. Windows, bumpers, lights, engine parts etc. are way more important so one would atleast expect they have them around and ready to be delivered at your dealer when needed. :ford:

They did reference the rain sensor so it looks like the windscreen has some part to play for your automatic wipers. Pretty sure that's a standard feature though so all the UK spec replacement windscreens will be the same.

Not sure about the black out area. Will wait and see what comes but assume the only change will be no Ford Logo.

I could always put a massive MAX POWER sun screen thingy there lol.. Just to add to the effect when I cruise by with this blasting out the window;
