Prop Rod or Hood Struts

If it were my guess, it'd be the prop.

Struts are nice until they fail.

Hood struts are still fine on my 9 year old GTO (owned since new never replaced)

Hood struts are still fine on my 14 year old Grand Prix GTP (owned since new never replaced)

I open both of them quite often. In summer I will open and close them in the garage to let the engines cool off more quickly.

If they fail I will replace them.

Struts are the way to go.
