Thanks, I didn't try heat although that may have made it loosen up a bit. It won't be able to be pulled off like vinyl but it might make it easier to sand off. It took me quite a while to sand the whole piece down. I'm sure there's probably a better way of doing it than by hand but I really wanted to make sure it turned out ok. So it takes some patience. I used a dremel to sand out the vent holes that were a little tricky getting in to and then went over the whole thing again to make sure all the lines were going the way I wanted. Then I cleaned it with a damp towel, dried it, prepped it with some alcohol and applied the Protectaclear. I really like how that stuff turned out, it's self leveling and after it dries you can't really tell it's even on there. But it'll keep it from tarnishing and getting fingerprints all over it.

How was the new stereo mfd installed? How good is it compared with MFT? Does it work with the steering wheel controls/SYNC??

I installed this over the weekend, you remove the stock bezel and screen and replace it with a new one that includes bezel, new wiring harness, and the 8" screen. So the Sync unit that actually sits right behind the stock screen remains there and plugs into this new unit.

I can't compare it to MFT since I replaced the 4" base screen and haven't had a chance to play around with a MFT unit. But this is certainly way better than the base unit. The navigation is great and all of the Sync functions are retained including voice commands and steering wheel controls. I think it's a hell of an upgrade for just $300.

This unit is being discussed in this thread.

Most of the early adopter issues have been resolved. All of the units are completely English now and the temp and time appears to have been fixed as well. I bought mine through Tomtop_sales on eBay. Took two weeks for it to ship out but then I received it in four days.
Here is the exact listing I bought from.
