main annoying thign is the homelink in this car seems to have a short range. I have to get halfway up my driveway for the signal to reach the garage door. On the Lexus I could open the garage from the street

If anyone gets stuck when you're pressing the button on your handheld garage door opener and holding the button on your visor, the key for me was that I needed an ORIGINAL handheld garage door opener. I was using a universal handheld garage door opener, which was programmed to open the door (which worked quite well and had brand new batteries as part of my troubleshooting), but for some reason it could not be used to program my car's visor :frusty:.

It took me forever to figure that out, and Homelink was of no help in finding the solution. They actually recommended that I go to Ford to get my visor replaced. Ford said to replace my garage door opener.

I thought I read that the battery in the HomeLink unit is a rechargeable? Is that true or does it need to be replaced??

it takes 30 sec to do. Most likely youll have the rolling code opener and you have to do the 2nd step which is pressing the learn button then get back to your car. Took me 30 seconds to do

In the video the very first step is where I'm confused. It says to hold both the transmitter and the "Home Link" button until it gives a rapid flash. BUT.. which which home link button. The arrow is pointing to the left button.. or does it mean to press the button with the "home" above it???

whichever one you want to assign the button to. You can program up to 3 different garage openers

I have the same problem. Infiniti can open from the street, Mustang has to be much closer

The video did not work for me. I had to hit the program button on the opener to get it to work. Now it works flawlessly.

same gave up. i got a recent genie (house is only 2 years old) and could never figure it out. manual instructions did not work and i tried a bunch haha
I also have a newer home/genie. What I found during the process is that the newer Genie remotes with more advanced Intellicode technology do not communicate well with the Mustang's Homelink.

What I had to do was contact Genie, they sent me an older style Genie remote for free. Then, you have to pair the older style remote to your garage door opener. Once you have done that, you then use the older style remote to transmit the appropriate signal to the Homelink in your car.

That worked for me anyway.
