Hello,

I have a 2015 Mustang GT.. My Homelink garage door opener mounted in the drivers side visor stopped opening my Genie apartment garage door. I've tried to reprogram it, but can't seem to get it to work. Can someone tell me the sequence. (The instructions in the manual are generic and don't work for me).

Also, is the battery that drive the transmitter replaceable? Maybe it's dead? Thank you.

If I recall correctly, the manual is dead wrong on how to get it into program mode. I think I may have had to hold down the two outermost buttons for 5-10 seconds to get it to start blinking and go into program mode.

All I remember is that I had to run between the car and the garage doing things as my garage door is an older model. I had stated a thread about this. I did eventually get it working

Yeah I couldn't get mine to work so I just gave up.

Maybe I'll check out YouTube.

My old gaage worked great but these new genie code switching set ups have made me give up on my homelink.

Anyone know how to program these code learning deals?

I called Homelink directly. The representative asked for my VIN and asked me some questions about my opener and remote. Then he walked me through the programming process without any issue. Took about 30 seconds and the guy even had me verify proper operation a couple times before I got off the phone. No charge, no hassle, great experience overall.

it takes 30 sec to do. Most likely youll have the rolling code opener and you have to do the 2nd step which is pressing the learn button then get back to your car. Took me 30 seconds to do

It's cake, finally got around to doing mine today. I have older openers that required me to hit the learn button on my motor housing. Even so, the process was pretty painless.

Holding the two outer buttons for ~15 seconds resets the device.

The owners manual worked well for me but I did have to make opener learn it after I programmed it. Manual didn't say to do that as I recall.

Gets its power from the car battery. No battery to replace in the transmitter.

I programmed mine, and it works. Sometimes. If the sunvisor mounted remote is not pointing directly at the door opener, it won't work. It's like it has a low signal sometimes. And sometimes I can be at the end of the driveway (side entry garages) and it works not even pointing at the house.
