So when I bought my car back in Sept 2017 I almost immediately purchased the Ford Performance Power Pack 1 tune for it. Now I am considering swapping to a 2018+ intake manifold, can the ProCal software be used to flash a new tune or is it only for the Ford Performance tunes?

Only FP, so unless you get FP to write you a custom tune for the 18 manifold you should get a separate one.

If I don't have a backup of my original tune, will it be an issue moving to another tuning device and tuner?

The Procal should be able to return the vehicle back to the stock tune, and then you can purchase an SCT or Ngauge to save and replace the stock tune with a custom one. if you need any help or would like to see what we can do for you, shoot me a message anytime! Lethalperformance.com

If you used your own PC to load the tune with Procal then you will have the stock tune stored in the Procal directory. If a dealer or shop did it with their own computer then you would need to contact them to see if they still have the file saved.

What if I don't have my stock tune, can I just flash it with a SCT or NGuage to a custom tune directly?

Dealer used their PC. I sent an email yesterday, waiting on a response if they have my stock tune on a backup somewhere, but this goes back to May 2018!

Is there any other way to get a stock tune back on? Is it even necessary if I want to go to a custom tune?

I just chatted with tech support at Ford Performance. They confirmed a dealer can return ECU to stock without the backup by performing "as built data" and manually IDing the car to perform a "tear tag method"

Obviously there will be cost to this, but there is a way if the original backup can't be located. I am still waiting to hear back from the dealer that performed the original programming.

If you have the PP1 tune loaded and scan it with a SCT or NGauge to load another custom tune those tuners would just store the PP1 tune as the "stock" tune. The tuners just label were whatever tune is existing as the "stock" tune, they don't actually know how to identify stock factory settings.

Thanks! That's actually perfect. Since the PP1 tune is just a tune with a K&N filter and the way it should have come from the factory, for me its essentially the stock tune if I ever want to revert back.

Saves me the effort and expense in getting the OEM tune back on it before I start other modifications.

Great way to start my week!
