OK- a couple of things. 1st to the junior wannabe lawyers. Stop rendering legal opinions-when you haven't got a clue, and none of you do. The OP is from Canada. Now while it is true we can take Canada anytime we want and turn it into States 51-60 I do not see us doing that anytime soon. So for now Canada is a separate country.

Guess what--Canadian law is probably a bit different....WOW, what a concept. Different countries have different laws. I bet you guys missed that in 8th grade civics. Actually the law as to car purchase deposits can vary by state within the US. Some states refundable and some not--just because your state does it one way doesn't mean every state or country does it the same. Gotta look at the big picture.

To the OP--sorry but tough love time. [censored]. NO ONE is lying to you. There is no grand conspiracy.. Obviously the data in the computer has changed and the dealer reports what they see at that time. As we are all aware there have been HOLDS. For whatever reason yours is being held. We have all seen the body panel issues...we have also seen posts by some who had QC miles on their car.

So call your insurance company and advise the car is being delayed and cancel for now. Once the dealership actually gets the car you can then call the insurance company and reactivate. The car will be here soon enough-just chill.

I realize this purchase is very important to you but do you really think local dealers and Ford have the staffing to respond to everyone who wants to know where their car is this instant-do you have any idea of how many vehicles Ford builds and ships per day...any idea of the additional overhead costs associated to hire thousands of employees to spend time with every buyer post sale demanding immediate personal attention?

In the past it was always it will show when it shows...modern technology has changed that...but even so...much of that data is based upon predictions and reality takes a bit to catch up. The system predicted your car at X point and X date and now reality sets in-probably a general batch QC hold is taking place--they pull a batch of cars for closer inspection not because something is wrong with yours but as a group to check systems (build). There can also be data errors and data reading errors...like someone misreading 3/16 for 3/6 or vice versa.

it will be here soon enough. relax and just think of your future rides. It will be sweet and this will all be forgotten 5 minutes after you drive off from the dealership
Thanks for your reply. Your message does bring upon a bit of an ease. It is true that it arrives when it arrives. I just wish I didn't receive the info of the car expecting to come last week from my dealer, when there was a big delay. Also, the dealer did tell me it shipped out once, I think he was just using his intuition. I just dont want to support this dealership with its customer service. I'll wait till I get the car, cancel the ESP on the delivery date and buy else where (I heard in the US its cheap), and for maintenance and repairs ill take my car to another dealer.

Now I just hope the car comes problem free when it does, I've seen a lot of posts here, so I'm going to make sure i check everything before accepting delivery.

I am curious if this is just a Canadian thing for custom orders, because I'm guessing most of us are like I was, I didn't sign anything when placing the order, just handed over the deposit check which would be held until delivery time. I sign the paperwork when the car comes in and I have determined that it is in acceptable condition.

What I haven't heard you explain is why you want to pull out of the order - is it because it is just taking longer than you would like to arrive? If that's the only reason, unless the agreement has a clause that states a point in time at which the vehicle must be delivered, I think you may be out of luck.
Don't think its a Canadian thing, as I'm Canadian. I custom ordered mine and I didn't have to sign a thing, and put zero down...
