Lmao, it's either that, or buying F15 TEM, which looks likst 'Fist em' or 'Fist me'
(meant to be F1 5TE M).
I have NO IDEA why you keep mentioning this plate ;)

I bought my plate purely as I wanted a US-sized front and 5 characters fits better.

I bought mine as I couldn't get the one I really want because the old git that owns it refuses to sell it :(

I just don't get it. Unless it's an investment or you're embarrassed about how old your car is (which isn't likely the case with any of us). The only other benefit I can se is that fewer characters will allow for a smaller plate which would be an improvement a the front at least.

So FP51 MUS must be worth al least £5K :)

F as in Ford and P51 as in North American Mustang (just in case you don't get it :))

Actually it's worth just £250.00 which is what I paid DVLA for it.

Gag done by a UK McDonalds commercial in the late 90s. They also did one about faking a banging sound system by strapping a guy into the back of an escort van and getting him to thump the panels from the inside in time to music.

It's probably not the case now, but not that long ago in the US you could have any plate you wanted, provided it wasn't already registered in your state, for a fee of about $60. Takes the elitist element away from it.

USA is much easier to get, think it's about $200-500 now, but you can have multiple variants of the same plate letters, as long as it's on a different county within a state (DUmbed down version, more technicalities).

I also know you can register a car in alaska for the sake of argument, to pick up a 'IMA****' plate

As a lover of private plates, I have FIL 884 on my car sitting on a 13" plate and it looks so much better.

I'm trying to buy my son a plate for his car, with the name Luke I thought I would be able to get one no problem, and I can but not really for less than £4K. I love him but not £4K enough when that money can go on some new wheels!

Speaking of plates, my brother in law has MU51 CMC, which if you are a DJ can read MU51C MC, yours for £10k !!

So many I would buy if I had the money.

As an old romantic, when I bought my RX8 back in 2006, I got the plate LK06 GHK, Mrs and my initials, as a surprise

10 years later, it's been on all my performance cars, including Priscilla

I love it when the Mustang is mistaken for a 2006 car, loved it even more when I got the suspension done and the shop was surprised that a 2006 had only done 700 miles (they got it very quickly )

Moral of the story, a plate, to be personalised, doesn't have to 'read' anything but be personal to YOU! Clever people will get it, not immediately, but sooner or later.

Also, a personalised plate should never have to be explained, to anyone

Always have to explain mine but I dont care, it has sentimental value to me. Got it on my 21st birthday and been on all my cars since :) T21 KGR - dont ask what the T is for but 21 and my initials.

Funnily enough I used to work with a guy that for years thought it spelled TIGER

Almost brought another one for the stang; KR15 KGR - which I wouldn't have had to explain!

That's like saying the pure fluke of my plate being BK16 OSM is me and my missus' initials (Her's backwards, 16, O, Steve Mander). Hey ho, it was the best plate the dealership had... and the only with SM in it lol.:headbonk:

Got it straight off the DVLA, so just the standard £399.

Yeah, I could probably let it go for £10k alright
my Personal Plate was £250 and the dealer ordered it from the DVLA and put it on for me, then never charged me :D
People say "it dont mean anything to them" who cares, as long as I know what it means
