This is what I fear. I looked right now, for a 2014 with TP, electronics and Recaros, the three options I see myself wanting it's about 43k in California.

That's where my ~50k for the s550 number came from.
I specced out a '14 GT, automatic, extra cost color, striped, GT plus with just 400a, Brembo brakes, comfort package, electronic package and rear-view camera at $43,225 I believe. I can see this same package running $45,000 to $45,500 for the 2015 with the same equipment. If it is more I may rethink my option list. (Another reason I'm hoping the 5.0 is rated closer to 450 HP than 420 HP as well.)

If you want every option, then by all means, it's available.

Just don't complain about the MSRP being too high or, complain your fully loaded GT weighed 200lbs more than advertised... Track Pack will add weight, E Pack will too.

A Track Pack is t needed for a daily driver... Skip it and get the E Pack Convertible if you need to spend money.

A 420+ HP engine isn't needed for a daily driver either. Hell a 200 HP engine isn't needed for a daily driver. It isn't what is NEEDED, it is what is WANTED. I buy a vehicle the way I want it optioned. If I didn't care about what I drove, I'd buy some lame and boring silver Civic with a 4 banger to tote me from point A to point B. For some of us it is HOW you get from point A to point B, and some of us like to add a little spice to the drive if you know what I mean. :)

Totally, and I want a daily driver that has the necessary (wanted) bells and whistles that also drives fast and fun. The TP adds some nice goodies. Oh and can't stand the look of convertibles.

My girlfriend's 2013 Silver Corolla works excellent for getting us around, every last thing on the car works well, it's just totally boring to drive.

Again, good points. I'm not a fan of convertibles either. I would never own one. I am hoping that we will get to see the price structure come April 17th. I wouldn't count on it, but it would be a good time for Ford to release it. Patience sucks when you are excited about something. ;)

That would be a bad move for Ford. Plenty of people would just buy a one year used nicely equipped Vette. 50k should be convertible GT territory. Ford can't lose sight of their audience.

I think selling the car in new markets will give Ford some scale. I think a fully loaded GT coming in at 45,000 is totally reasonable. Anything over that and they are pricing out a lot of people. Competition is also key. There isn't much room, if any, for Ford to charge more than GM does for the Camaro. GM is going to be putting a lot of cash on the hood of the Camaro to keep sales pace with the new mustang until they have an all new product. The Mustang has always been for the everyman. They can't loose sight of that. I don't think they will. Being aggressive on price will pay bigger dividends for them than jacking the price up IMO.

Only the V6/EB Mustang is for the every-man, 35-45k is quite expensive IMHO... What non-professional is going to afford a 45k vehicle?

45k is way to much for a GT. The only GT that should possibly get close is a fully loaded vert. I want a base GT with track pack and it shouldn't be more than 35k.

I agree. I do want the TP, Recaros, and probably electronics. This still shouldn't be near 45k, but I fear it will be about 45k.

If the electronics package requires the premium interior, I'd bet it would come in around $42k-43k with the Track Package and Recaros. $45k would include the upgraded sound system.

If the EP could be ordered without the premium interior, I'd get that along with the cloth Recaros and Track Pack.

The current GT is nearly 42k blinged out before incentives. I don't see incentives on a 2015 until the next year.

People don't pay MSRP either. I didn't buy my car with any incentives and still came below invoice. Admittedly my negotiating skills were severely compromised with my excitement when I saw the car so others have definitely seen better deals. The next go around I'll have my head on a little tighter.

If your negotiation skills aren't the best, there is always X-plan. :)

That is going to be my starting point to see who will honor it and then possibly find another dealer that will beat it. It will be tough at first I'm sure.

I joined the MCA for the x-plan, I'm interested to see what that does for a potential 2015 Mustang purchase.
