I drove out to Walmart to get mobil 1 oil for my wife's '14 Pathfinder. I was in the parking garage, driving around in circles, looking for the best spot (free of potential door dings).
I get out, and start to walk away, I hear a guy scream, "Yo! Yo!" I turn around, and he says, "Is that the 2015? That's NICE! What the heck you got under that hood?!? V6? V8? Sounds crazy, supercharger?" I tell him that it's a turbo. He doesn't believe me, says he heard the sound the entire rev range. He says, "it's a V8 supercharger?" I tell him, "Actually, it's a Turbo FOUR". His facial expression changes. Says, "Oh... okay"... Then gets into his 2007 Infinit G35. I thought to myself, "buddy, little do you know, my i4T engine has 50 more hp and torgue than your 3.5L v6.
A few hours later, I am driving my 7 year old to his piano lesson. I am driving onto the on ramp, and I leave behind a Cadillac CTS. The driver tries to keep up on the on ramp. He chases after me on the highway. I get off the next exit, he follows me off, then opens his window. I thought he was going to curse me off for something. The older gentleman says, "Hey! What do you have under that hood?" I tell him, "A Turbo Four". His mouth drops open and says, "Wow! that thing is FAST! How does it handle?" I told him that I love it. He says his brother is on the waiting list for the Shelby 350. He said, "Wow! a four cylinder! What a car! Hey, good luck with that. It's very nice!".
Later in the day, I drive to local autozone to buy a filter for my wife's pathfinder. I park my EB in the parking lot. There was an employee installing a battery for customer in the parking lot.
I go inside get my filter and stand on line. The employee comes in, and says to everyone, "Hey! did you guys see the new mustang outside?" The manager looks out and says, "MAN!!! That thing's got a MEAN look!" A bunch of employees go to the window to peek out exclaiming in excitement. THe first employee says, "Yeah, I am not sure about the new design..."
I get out, and as I drive off, I see a S194 ('14) GT 5.0 in the lot. Maybe that employee's car? I walk over to my car and see two employees still peeking out the window.
Anyway, today was a day where people were asking me about the car, and people were staring at the car. I used to ask my female friends how it feels because they were always getting ogled wherever we went. Now I think I know how it feels.
