In a couple of days I'll be heading out on an 8 hour road trip to visit my parents for a week. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to prep the Mustang for the trip? Parts, navigation/infotainment settings, etc....
I figured this may be a good space to gather some best practices too :)

There is no way on Gds green earth that I'm letting those things near my 50th anniversary interior. No. Sir.

You don't need to prep the car. Stop to eat when necessary. Stop to piss when necessary. Stop to fill up when necessary.

I just got back home from a 2400km road trip over 4 days and I changed my oil before I started off on my trip since I would have passed my oil change interval mid-way through.

What about Cape Cod originals? Since they're a 'dry chip' :)

I usually check tire pressure before heading out on a longer drive

Make sure the windshield washer fluid is topped off. Check the tire pressures after they are warmed and grab a thumb drive full of your favorite tunes.

Enjoy.

it has an engine!
id tape the whole front end to keep rockchips down. only larger size rocks will rip a chip hole in the tape. Less likely to chip.

Example.
