Ford did not produce any Pilot Production GT350/R's for the 2015 MY with this vehicle being assembled in May 2015 as a 2016 model.

Personally I like the color combination but this car has been for sale for a very long time and as listed has a replacement engine.

The only way that I would consider purchasing this car is if it was 1 of the 6 Base R's built in that color combination for the 2016 MY or if the price was just too good to pass up and would have to be bought somewhere in the $40's.

I remember located Jamal Hameedi's 2017 R Base model that was assembled in February 2016 and was titled as a 2017 GT350R.

He had it painted in Ruby Red along with a Black Painted roof which is my favorite color combination and ordered HR019 in that same color combination.

Getting back to the car in question it was originally offered for sale at $80,000 and now down to well below that asking price.

Sorry Im not familiar with Pilot Production cars and given your handle I'm guessing you have #1. I would understand making a few cars for testing but 95 seems like a lot for a model you plan to make < 1000

I am familliar with that car. It is indeed a '16 PP model that the dealer has had in the show room for quite some time. A PP is rare, especially in an R model.

Notice the listing.... reserve not met. That listing has ended at exactly that status. If you want that car, you are going to pay for it. I would suggest getting in touch with the dealership and dealing directly with them.

If you want an R, and want it on the cheap, I'd look elsewhere. Notice the price tag hanging on the rear view mirror.... $79,999.

That is a collector car and they know it.

I have to agree that 95 Pre-Production or Pilot Production cars is quite a high number for any model year but suggest that there is a reason for this high number of PP cars for the 2016 MY.

First of all Ford did not make any PP cars for the 2015 GT350/R model year as it was a very limited run for the 50th Anniversary of Mustang which meant that the first full year or launch year of mass production vehicles for the GT350/R was the 2016 MY therefore FR starting producing 2016 PP cars in the Spring of 2015 for the next MY.

With the launch of the GT350/R from a full fledged production standpoint Ford new that they required a lot of PP cars for their execs, the automotive press and for their North American GT350/R Track Tour which had enthusiasts in all parts of the U.S. driving 2016 PP cars at various race tracks starting in October of 2015.

In comparison when the launch of the 2012 Boss 302 program came out back in February of 2011 Ford had produced 56 Pre-Production cars for their execs and the automotive press of which 12 cars were Pilot Production cars and 44 cars were "MP" or Mass Production cars.

FR also produced 12 "TT" or Tooling Tryout Boss 302's for 2012 but only one of those cars reached the general public.

The number of GT350/R PP cars that FR assembled for the 2017 MY was 21 and they also produced 21 PP cars for the 2018 MY as well.

No idea on the number of PP cars for the 2019 MY but it won't be significant.

Lastly, the easiest way to determine a PP car is by the VIN as all of the VP, TT, PP and MP cars have their own VIN series.
