Outerwears as well as other prefilter companies state there is no HP or air flow loss when using such prefilters.

Here's air flow data from another prefilter company:

If it filters, it restricts. 100% of the time, every time. There is no debate. There is no free lunch.

And if you believe the information that the manufacturers put out....well.......there's a sucker born every minute.

A Wuhan Mask of Fear is far more restrictive that Outerwear's prefilter. Try it. You will be able to breathe easier thru Outerwear's and it is as ineffective in filtering viruses!

OK, lighten up folks! This is like engine oil and tee shirts. You will run the one you like the best and it is doubtful that anyone can convince you to run anything else. I find it interesting that dirt bike racers have run them for decades to keep dirt and water out of their machines. If nothing else, in a street application it may help just a tiny bit keeping water off of the filter in a CAI application.

that is because they have a specific need for it and still not everyone uses it anyway. I've never seen a street bike run a pre-filter or a road race bike either. in fact most road race bikes ran without filter. I ran my race bike without filter most of the time, just velocity stacks on the carbs is all

dirt bikes and snowmobiles have specific needs that warrant it. I wouldnt run one on a street driven car unless you planned on driving thru a dust storm or lived on Fury Road or something like that.

but, you do you. if you wanna run one knock yourself out. your car, your money your peace of mind and all.
