Recently picked up a 2019 face lift gt. very happy with it being my dream car. After covering a few hundred miles the dash has come up with EXHAUST FILTER FULL SERVICE NOW. I’ve spoken to the dealer and they believe this is covered under the warranty. Just wanted to know if anyone else has come across this problem in the uk and is it an expensive fix?

The vehicle is new to you and you don't know how it was driven before. The thread above provides some specific information which can be done to clear the event.

I attempted to find if the GPF is covered by Ford UK. For structural defects, given a certain number of years and miles, it seems so, yes. But for one that is clogged and won't clear by itself, I could not confirm if that's covered. Ford's documentation on-line is sparse.

Hopefully, the dealer you're working with will support a replacement under warranty, if needed.

@WD Pro and others might have some better insight on this topic.

The GPF is an internal part of the catalytic converter system. If replacement is required that will be costly if Ford passes the cost to the owner.
How many miles are on this vehicle ? Did the previous owner only use lower grade fuel and not premium ?

Male sure they top off the blinker fluid and check the flux capacitor while they are in there. Sheesh and I thought our epa was ridiculous....

I think I only recall one other similar thread (might have been on the MOCGB forum ?), so it doesn’t seem common, but then stangs aren’t exactly common over here either …

Yes, we get exhaust filters over here. It started with DPF’s on diesel vehicles, and now GPF’s on gas vehicles.

DPF’s are known for issues on town cars, but it’s very rare to hear of GPF issues - at least in my experience.

For those on the other side of the pond, I’m sure GPF’s are something that’s on the EPA’s radar …

I would be interested in the answers to questions already asked - mileage / usage / fuel quality etc.

I think it’s interesting / encouraging that your message says ‘SERVICE NOW’ rather than ‘REPLACE’ or some similar wording, maybe they can do a forced regen like they can on a diesel car ?

You say your purchase is recent - any comeback with the seller ?

If they do need replacement (at your cost), I would guess that catted headers and a tune would be much cheaper than Fords prices.

Is there a regeneration that can occur like a diesel particulate filter does? Maybe there is a certain set of criteria that has to happen and you are not meeting it?

So it’s currently on 50000 and I’m not aware, however since the purchase I’ve only ever used super unleaded

UK and other Euros had to buy emergency fuel supplies from who knows where, likey from refineries that rapidly shifted from one grade of crude they were getting for last 40 years to another grade without doing the $B+ 1.5 year adjustments to the refinery. Its messing up a lot of peoples cars.​
I know in N. America its an emissions 10 yr warranty. Best to check UK emissions warranty rules. Poor fuel quality void the warranty though.​
