Greetings,

New forum member and new Ford owner here.
I have been and still am a BMW owner for 25 years, but recently joined the Mach 1 family as another track weapon.

After taking delivery, I noticed that the suspension shipping blocks were still in place, and the front wheel arch trims were not installed or in the trunk.

What else was supposed to be done before delivery that now I am suspect may not have been?

Just want to make sure nothing maybe forgotten that could cause damage.

thanks!

pull the blocks out, nothing else you can do. check the oil, coolant levels.

Maybe do a close inspection of panel fitment. Unfortunate.

Welcome.

Shipping blocks are caught and removed 99% of the time. If you still have yours, hold on to them as a keepsake. Leaving them in for the time you've had the car will not cause damage, just bad suspension performance.

You and other Mustang owners are allowed a free alignment check within (I believe) the first six 12 months, 12,000 miles of ownership. If you see or sense the tires and/or suspension are not working right, chat up your dealer on this.

Regarding the wheel lips, this is an HP car, yes? If so, the wheel lips are shipped separately and will arrive at the dealer Parts Department. The received box will have your VIN on it, so it is associated with your purchase. Everyone's experience with this topic differs. Mine arrived around the same time as the car. Many arrive weeks later.

Your Mach 1 Welcome Kit and Track Attach paperwork will arrive months from now. If interested in the Track Attack, you can chat up the school immediately.

I'd check your tire pressure levels. Cars are shipped with over-inflated tires. The tag in the Driver's door will list the recommended PSI.

Clean the inside of the front windshield. One check performed is A/C and heater operation. I found mine to be filthy from the residue and whatnot.

If you haven't already, check all fluids. You've probably already checked for cosmetic defects.

Other than general mechanical reviews, driving, and cosmetic checks, there really isn't anything specific to the Mustang or Mach 1 that you haven't already listed. Others will chime in with their experiences as the thread grows.

You referenced track time. You can search and read other threads regarding break-in; Ford recommends a 1,000 mile/1600 km. If not already familiar with the engine, the Coyote is a proven performer that likes to rev. Don't be concerned in the slightest about laying into it.

Keep the shipping blocks, owners manual says you can reinstall for towing,

Thank you! Was aware of all except the free alignment.
