I left mine in place for now, doesn’t look completely horrid, may mess with it when it’s warm. Sorry about the dirt

For myself, I figure I am adding the mud flaps to protect the paint over the winter and early spring. When it is time to swap the summer tires on I am thinking I will remove the flaps.

the summer tires are what can cause the most damage. They are stickier and can fling up rocks.

Did anyone ever figure out what these pieces were for and or get part numbers for them?

Finally installed mine. Did the same as GagneGo and just put them over the mystery piece.

Are these the standard size RokBlokz guards, or are they the PP2 size that RB offers? TIA.

I thought that little black trim was a euro regulation and it is something to do with tyre exposure when viewed from certain angles etc (i.e. kind of pointless other than getting the design through certain regulations).

Some manufactures are now moulding that piece into the rear bumper cover which kind of looks a bit funky as on the lighter colours, it really draws your attention to it.

I don't mind the black type, but I wish ford would have extended it to the bottom of the painted bumper lip to protect all that edge from rock chips - if they were going to add it, at least make it useful for something ... lol

My 2020 PP2 had those also. (I believe it was built in June or July of 2020.) I installed ZL1 addons guards a month or so after I bought it. I ended up removing those little pieces, the guards didn't fit to well with them in place. If remember correctly, two bolts inside the wheel well held them on, plus a little piece of double sided tape. Came right off easily once removing the bolts.
