PP + Covertible??

I see plenty of Florida plates in the NC Appalachian mountains. They cannot drive in the hills/mountains. We have a name for these people... Flor-idiots.

You lucky.....most of them leave eventually when the weather cools down. Those that relocate to Florida forget to go home! I remind them when they start kvetching (complaining) about how much better things were in NY and NJ where they were (from). I always say, if (from) was so great, why are you here? I 95 North and don`t come back!

If the 2015 Convertibles are delayed until April delivery, I`m holding off for a 2016! I don`t give a damn about the 50th Decal Badge on the Dash.

The argument about convertible buyers not interested in spirited driving is a bunch of crap. Then tell me why you could get Shelby GT500, Roush, Saleen, etc. Mustangs in convertibles?? Corvettes, Ferraris, Vipers, Lambos, Astons, Porches, Audi R8, etc. can all be had in convertibles...heck even the R8 has the optional V10 engine on the convertibles. But yeah, those aren't in the same class, so let's look at Mustang's #1 competitor...the Camaro.

You can get Recaros, 6-piston brakes, short-throw shifter, dual-mode exhaust, staggered 20" wheels, etc. with Camaro convertibles. You can even get a ZL1 Camaro in convertible, which I guess is more equivalent to the GT500 which we have yet to see in the S550.

The argument isn't that convertible buyers aren't interested in spirited driving. That, obviously, isn't true, as sports cars and open tops have gone hand in hand since the dawn of time. Rather, the argument is that a customer buying a car for serious performance work - ie competition on some level - would choose the lighter, stiffer body structure. If performance is a real high priority, then wanting the lightest/stiffest version has some logic behind it.

Keep in mind that the Performance Pack, like the previous Track Package, isn't intended for the high-volume masses but rather the discerning few who's priorities are skewed that way. But I could also totally believe that customers that aren't looking to go to the track would still want the best performance options even if they don't actually need them. Clearly, there are different schools of thought on this.

The point is that it is an option that must be paid for. I am wondering if perhaps we are looking at a glitch in the ordering system that may get ironed out at a later time...seems a reasonable assumption since, as it has been mentioned previously, it is available to GT coupe buyers that are willing to part with more of their money, and that none of the base parts affected are known to be any different between the coupe and the vert...
