PP + Covertible??

Few nights ago during dinner, I told my wife that I was getting pretty serious about purchasing the 2015 Mustang GT. So like any other smart person would, she starts to build/option the car up on Ford website to see how much it would be. I told her that I'm considering a GT Premium with a PP package. She says she cannot find that option package on the website. So we take a look together and what do you know... PP package is not offered with Convertible? I had fastback in mind, but I guess she had a convertible in her head. PP package is offered only on the Fastback? Is this correct or am I missing something? I would love to have the convertible, if it was offered with PP package.

Were you trying to build an Automatic? As far as I know the Performance Package is Available for the GT Convertible, but it is Not Available with an Automatic Transmission on any GT. You can order an Eco-Boost Automatic with Performance Package however. I would have thought the Build and Price would have Popped Up a Notice saying to Add the Performance Package would Require Removal of the Automatic Transmission though.

No, automatic is not an option for me. Manual Covertible GT. I'm on the website right now and it is not offered. Bummer. Being able to drop the top adds to the appeal for me. I guess I'll have to stick with Fastback

This. The order guide is pretty clear on this point, and for my own part, this is one of the things I've been ranting about since I intend to order a convertible. The Track Package was not offered on the S197 GT convertible either, so I really didn't expect that the PP would be offered. But they did offer the Brembo Brake Package, which was essentially Track Pack Lite. It gave the brake & chassis upgrades without the improved cooling system, 3.73 Torsen axle, etc. I was really hoping for an equivalent option that I could just swap the diff into and be happy... :rant:

They could have put a jet engine in that car, wouldn't mean the Mustang is available with a jet engine.

Technically it's "no longer available". It was available until someone bought it.

Perhaps. But the key here is that it was never available in general to widespread consumers...

That's correct, unless he's interested in a used one, but that might be out of his budget.

Same with auto/PP, same with auto/GT500/SVT, same with no Ecoboost V6, same with no AWD, so on and so on.

This has been one of my biggest dissapointments with this car, especially considering the camaro and and all of its Hi-po variants can have all of their performance options on the convertible version. They've really dropped the ball when it come to the drop-top, and its got me stuck between a rock and a hard place since I love convertibles, but also would like the features from the performance package.
